Ups and Downs

Pros

- A certain level of freedom to learn new things and contribute to the team - A lot of great people working there - The concept of the product (greater mobility of people around the world) is very inspiring and easy to get behind. - Nice office, fun offsites and parties, above average pay for the city

Cons

- Exec team lacks experience, both in business and especially in running a tech company (startup) - If you don't agree with the management you will soon find yourself ostracised if not demonised - The actual execution of the product is poor, too many disappointed customers, and there really didn't seem a way to turn things around. At times it felt like whipping a dead horse. - Most of the focus went to creating PR and marketing to make the company look good rather than building a product that customers would love. - It was also hard to deal with the constant turn over. There have been significantly more people who have worked there than were ever actively working there. - All new hires come in, see it's a mess, get their hero complex kicking into overdrive then hit a brick wall with the exec team and either fall into line or are shipped off for being negative.

Pros

- Remote work friendly - Some truly great people

Cons

On the positive side, the company aims high and has ambitious goals. However, this ambition often translates into unrealistically high expectations for employees, resulting in a pressure-cooker environment and a significant turnover rate. Micromanagement, excessive control, autocratic top-down decisions, unrealistic expectations demand overtime without compensation, contributing to burnout. The product development process is surprisingly sloppy for a company aspiring to attract enterprise clients. There seems to be a lack of attention to detail, which could hinder the company's growth in the long run. While the company boasts a feedback-friendly culture, it's a facade. Constructive feedback is ignored, and employees are often gaslit. The turnover rate is alarming, yet the management avoids any introspection and instead is choosing to deflect blame onto departing employees—labeling them as unproductive, incompatible, or due to shifting priorities. This, however, overlooks the detrimental impact of the "Great Culture", characterized by unrealistic expectations and a culture that induces burnout. The touted "Great Culture" is, in reality, one of the most toxic I've experienced.

Pros

Amazing colleagues, flexible work, great tools

Cons

Feedback isn't taken into account. Bad mgmt that only cares about money and not the employees, they make you feel like a robot. Zero appreciation for our work, no opportunities to grow
