      Unique workplace covering a variety of fields (coffee, gourmet goods, retail, and craft beer)

      Unrealistic expectations of staff, no raises or reviews, little to no training, and something is always broken/missing

      Not bad for barista work in Ithaca

      Pros

      Decent tips if you work in the cafe or tavern, and one of the better places to learn about espresso on the job – a lot of other places in town (besides Gimme Coffee) don't really take the time to properly train their baristas.

      Cons

      Ownership likes to micromanage and are dismissive of staff. I saw multiple failed attempts to unionize in the 3 years I worked there but these failed due to successful union busting efforts.

      Cons

      Owners take repeated vacations while workers don't receive raises even after years. My raise was when the minimum wage was increased for new york.
