Underpaid, over-worked and under appreciated.

Pros

Halloween party. Holiday "luncheon." Beyond that, it's difficult to think of many other positive aspects worth mentioning here. On paper, the mission of this company is great. In reality, it is basically a visa processing center.

Cons

The pay at Intrax is embarrassingly low considering how much money is in this industry and how overworked its employees are. A common topic of discussion in the lunch room is about how under appreciated and overworked people feel. Another common topic revolves around the horribly unrealistic expectations that the CEO tends to have of employees, and how unthankful and unfriendly he is. It is really funny that the photos of him on the Intrax website show him smiling. That is the *ONLY* time you will ever see him smiling. He is notorious for being extremely harsh on employees, unapproachable and unfriendly. Advice to new or potential employees: realize that hard work will probably not get you anywhere with this company. Employees are replaceable, and time and efforts are not recognized. Employees are worker bees. Use this as a stepping stone to something bigger and better. Don't work too hard, and always leave at 5 PM.

Pros

- There are really good, talented people who work here. A great number of them are now my closest friends. - You can, if you’re willing, springboard a career with little to no experience. - Since there’s little credibility with senior management, most jobs are really easy.

Cons

There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said but since there's a 20-word minimum, I guess I'll shed light on the cronyism of the organization. The CEO, as everyone has pointed out, couldn’t give a damn what anyone thinks — regardless of their intellect or experience. This results in his top advisors/direct reports being Yes Men who rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic to keep their jobs. For instance, when they don't hit their numbers, they'll cut loose some employees to protect their bonuses and so on... all under the guise of "changing direction."

Pros

The people and the mission.

Cons

As one previous reviewer stated, I would think twice about working for this company. I worked here for many years and can say with a certain degree of authority that it's highly dysfunctional—undoubtedly the worst company I have ever worked for. The people are great for sure, but good talent is wasted. People are seen as a cheap commodity, and are not rewarded monetarily or otherwise, so the good ones eventually move on. Overall the morale is exceptionally low as a result. Upper management (above Director level) have no clear guidance or direction, and even good managers have no power to fight for positive change. They don't have any say in how their departments are run, budgeted, etc. The founder rules with an iron fist, which is bad enough, but his business acumen is also poor, so the company and employees suffer as a result. Layoffs are part of daily life. The company thrives on cheap, entry level employees without a thought for how the high turnover and bad morale affects business. The pay is extremely low for the Bay Area and has not kept up with the times, so they are having difficulty attracting good talent. If you are thinking about working for this company, I would strongly recommend you do not. Just look at the other reviews on here. There are plenty of entry level jobs that pay better in SF, especially in the tech industry, and they aren't dead end. Trust me. Don't work for this company and you will be happier for your decision in the end.
