They throw you the “we’re a family” mindset to reel you in. Start you with a “buddy” supposedly to get you acclimated but they keep score whenever you ask for help and management will hold it against you later. Once you’re on a project, the person you’re taking over from makes it clear from the beginning that he didn’t want to let go of the high visibility project. They do everything to sabotage your- from canceling knowledge transfer sessions literally at the last minute to holding important meetings with the client and not including you. The client eventually complains that they “don’t know” what you’re doing on the project ie: not adding value. Not a good position to be in.

All the good management was fire or forced to leave leaving only the bad overbearing management, who have no clue what they are doing. They fail to back fill after a position opens and continue to hire PMs and management while loading more work on the frontline workers. Also the Chain of Command is useless because if there are questions everyone is going to ask the same questions and non of the leadership will pass on the information.
