Pros

imaware used to be (as the other reviews show) an awesome place to work that had vision, good people, resources, and provided a supportive workplace. There is still some of this remaining, but there's a lot of change going on, including so many people leaving. Hopefully the new people coming in will help to rebuild the culture. Having Friday afternoons off during the summer and 100% remote options is a great perk.

Cons

The company lacks long-term, strategic vision. We are always moving from initiative to initiative when we just outlined what the last one would accomplish. This results in starting a lot of new things (MVPs as the leadership calls it) which are barely functional, then because a new idea came along, we focus on building that. The revenue growth from adding new clients has also stalled out. There has been promise of a few "really large clients" that became the focus, but none have produced any quantifiable benefit for the company. As a result, the cofounder who was the CEO for a 3+ years was recently forced to step down by the board. They replaced him with a President who's only focus is making money. In the last 6 months, 4 department heads have left the company and 5 other people left (the company only has 45 people). They also brought in a Chief Growth Officer who is very out of tune with the industry and will even steal your ideas. It's very toxic and I dread opening my laptop every day.

Great Team, Horrible Leadership

Pros

Extremely knowledgeable and talented team. Everyone has their skills and they go above and beyond.

Cons

Constantly bringing new senior level people on board with no revenue to back it up. Promises are made that lay-offs are not imminent and then they are. Avoid this company at all costs.

Pros

still have some good people here remote

Cons

leadership has expressed that a company culture cannot exist unless a company is sustainable and established - CEO, P not Jani, refers to culture as "the c word" our "c word" is one where we churn out work with no positive result and listen to random company plans biweekly on how we can possibly turn the company in a financially positive direction without any data on decisions or proven plan in sight inclusion and diversity is limited and only heterosexual relationships can be openly celebrated we are told to take accountability for our company culture and are directed to define it ourselves and contact leadership about concerns even though we are given a watered down roundabout answer in biweekly town halls when we actually do express concerns expensive health plans that will probably get more expensive when it's time to re-enroll due to funding pretty much living each day wondering if we'll get a call that we no longer have a company or jobs losing development team every week so struggling to meet promised deadlines. it was an interesting decision to lay off so many of the engineering staff. so many followed.
