Pros

Humm group used to a great place to work for years ago. It had great people and amazing culture. They actually cared about the people. The executives had open door policy. However the last 18 months this company has lost it's culture. Staff are just a number now. It is all about 'how can we make ourselves look good', than care about it's people and culture.

Cons

- Looks great from outside, not a good place to work. If you want good work and live balance this is not a place to get this balance. - humm in paper encourages it's staff to speak up and calls things when it's not right but people speak up they are shot down by CEO. - Grest company that likes to ticks all the boxes to make itself look good to the outside world - humm NZ doesn't care about staff wellbeing, but they do like to raise funds for charities??? - expects staff to follow values but CEO NZ fails to demonstrate the values which filters to senior management. - Management love to blames covid and WFH for thw decline in culture. The management's fails to take accountability of their actions. The low staff moral comes from their management style and lack of respect for it's people - There is HR but in AU but for humm group not for its people - Damaging place for your wellbeing -zero career progression, its not about how good you are at your job, it is about who you are friends with at the higher level.

Pros

flexible work hours - but is flexibility even considered a pro in 2021?

Cons

Once upon a time, flexigroup (now humm group ??) had an amazing culture. You were encouraged to do what you believed was right for the business and people were always the number one priority. But on one sunny day the Australia side of the business took over (a.k.a. "the stepmom") and ruined it to almost every single person in NZ. The bullying and back-stabbing culture took place, and it soon became a VERY toxic environment. For the last couple of years people were being made redundant right, left and centre. 4 Restructures in 2 years, no pay rises in the last year (unless you were close to the right person) and although the company was making significant profit, no incentive payments were paid out either ("we need to save money" is all we ever heard, but keep in mind they rebranded at least twice in the same period) . Management and executive team didn't seem to care if you complained about lack of leadership and support from direct managers - even if there was bullying involved in the complaint (please include formal complaint here). Zero transparency. Zero acknowledgement. Zero motivation. Execs talk too much about providing the best service for external customers but couldn't show the same compassion for its own people. No wonder everybody is leaving humm group. It wouldn't be a surprise if there were over 100 vacancies between NZ and AUS at the moment. DO NOT WORK HERE. Waste of time and energy. Your excitement will soon turn into misery and perhaps depression. Rated them 1 start for the good souls I met along the way.

Worst company ever

Pros

don't have any pros for this company. The worst company ever.

Cons

The organization lacks a structured leadership hierarchy, with an overemphasis on authoritative figures rather than supportive leads. The imbalance is evident in the disproportionate ratio of Product Owners (PO) to Developers and Quality Assurance professionals. Recognition for team achievements primarily funnels towards upper management, leaving little acknowledgment for individual contributions. This pattern fosters an environment where only bosses are celebrated. The managerial focus is overwhelmingly on incessant requests, with no discernible presence of effective leadership in the IT domain. Rapid turnover rates, ranging from one week to six months, suggest a lack of employee satisfaction and engagement. The company exhibits a concerning disregard for its workforce, prioritizing high-ranking individuals and management over the well-being and development of its employees. Micromanagement is prevalent, and there is a reluctance to embrace flexible work arrangements, insisting on a constant physical presence in the office. Reports from Human Resources may not accurately reflect the reality of the work environment, as there seems to be a disconnect between promises made and the actual employee experience. The company's indifference extends to the IT sector in New Zealand, where there appears to be a lack of consideration for local industry standards and practices. Considering these factors, it is advisable to exercise caution when contemplating joining this organization. The potential toll on both your time and mental health is significant, given the apparent challenges posed by the management structure.
