Toxic culture and zero stability

Pros

Remote work is an option. The best part is the support from your colleagues — everyone at staff level is going through the same struggles, so people tend to pull together and look out for each other.

Cons

Honestly, this has been the worst place I’ve ever worked. There’s no real structure, no clear direction, and decisions get made on the fly which just creates chaos. Deadlines are completely unrealistic and when things go wrong, staff end up carrying the blame for management’s mistakes. The culture is toxic and unstable. People are let go all the time under “business needs,” so you never feel secure in your job. You’re often spoken to like you don’t know what you’re doing, and there’s no respect or trust. It leaves you constantly worrying about whether you’ll have a job tomorrow. The benefits are basically non-existent, and any promises of things “getting better” never materialise. There’s no investment in staff, no focus on wellbeing, and it honestly feels like everyone is disposable. Customers don’t fare much better, decisions are always about squeezing profit, never about service or people. If you want stability, respect, or a company that actually cares about its employees, this isn’t it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we genuinely value feedback from both current and former employees, as it helps us learn and improve. We’re a scaling company that’s been through a period of significant growth and change whilst we acquire new businesses, which we recognise can create uncertainty and frustration. To address this, we’ve recently hired a Chief People Officer to begin building the foundations for a more consistent and positive employee experience across all parts of the business. Meaningful change takes time, investment, and the right team in place, it cannot happen overnight. We appreciate that being on the receiving end of organisational change is never easy, but these steps are essential to ensure the business is focused on the right priorities for long-term stability and success. Throughout this process, we have aimed to treat all employees including those affected by change with dignity and respect. We know there’s still work to do, and we’re committed to doing better as we strengthen our people practices and bring greater clarity and structure over the coming year.

Pros

The company is big and growing because of acquisitions. People at the lower levels are generally friendly and nice to work with.

Cons

Leadership feels out of touch with both the everyday work and the bigger picture. Decisions from the top don’t seem to consider how they affect customers or staff. We’re pushed to meet high targets, but there’s not much focus on keeping service quality up or giving clear guidance on how to do better. Teams don’t really talk to each other, so it’s often unclear who to go to when something goes wrong. The lack of teamwork and organisation ends up causing mistakes and unhappy customers, which makes our jobs even harder. The work culture feels fake and forced. A lot of people get let go, which makes everyone nervous about speaking up because they worry it will cost them their job.

Thank you for your feedback. What you’ve described is something we recognise can happen in fast-growing organisations, particularly those expanding through multiple acquisitions. The pace and scale of our growth can at times feel intense, it stretches teams, demands more from leadership, and tests how well we communicate. But it’s exactly this kind of challenge that creates opportunities for us to come together, strengthen connections, and build an even better employee experience. At the same time, there are clear signs of progress. Our Trustpilot reviews remain consistently above 4.5 out of 5, showing that customers value what we deliver and that we are getting better. The challenge now is ensuring that the same sense of improvement is just as strongly felt inside the company as it is outside. Hosting.com is a place for people who want to help build something bigger, who can navigate growth and change, and who thrive in an environment where complexity brings opportunity. Growth isn’t always simple, but it creates room for people who want to make an impact, stay focused, and help shape what comes next.

Pros

great team and colleagues, good ideas and efforts on the employee level, helpful support outside of leadership

Cons

leadership is driven by investors, no consistency with strategy or direction, constant changes, no interest in HR or employee well-being, HR itself is a joke The company prides itself with being "fast-growing" and "driven" - but these phrases only cover up the ever present lack of consistent leadership. People and whole teams are let go on the fly, impactful business decisions are taken without explanations or reasoning. Senior staff with years of expertise is treated with no respect - even going the extra mile for the company is simply considered mandatory. "Hustling" like it's a start-up with 10 employees while this became one of the largest hosting companies leads to poor service delivery and customer experience. Everyone is expected to do everything. Any efforts to bring structure, processes or clear guidance is smashed by ad-hoc management decisions and change of direction. Navigating this company is a pain. I can not recommend working here - especially if you are interested in consistency and a stable work environment.
