Pros

Casual attire is allowed on a daily basis.

Cons

I normally look at this site very casually, as my philosophy is 'people go online to write bad reviews much more often than good'. Well, I have learned that when there is a pattern in comments to 'take heed'. Something is VERY, VERY wrong in the work ways and behavior allowed in this organization. The other negative reviews on here are accurate. This is an extremely dysfunctional organization which allows abhorrent behavior. Do NOT believe recruiters who tell you that 'things have changed' with new management. They have NOT. Enter at your own risk. I would rate Zero stars if that were an option for culture and values.

Unqualified Upper Management

Recommend

Business outlook

Pros

Decent PTO policy, flexible work schedules, good work/life balance for the most part.

Cons

Upper management and executive is composed of mostly unqualified overpaid individuals that lie, bully and whisper toxic messages into the CEO's ear. Qualified individuals are hired on and leave within months due to the toxic environment harnessed by certain Product Development teams and encouraged by their management. There is no structure, the defined and established processes are NOT ever followed and there is ZERO accountability by the project teams. There are some serious nonconforming regulatory activities that are not given the importance they require. The lack of resources across key product development teams is astonishing. Overworked, underpaid resources that do not get the recognition they deserve makes for a very depressing work environment. No real opportunity to move up in the company and little to no professional growth, long time employee are unwilling to put in the effort to challenge themselves, learn new things and improve their skills. No real engineering talent, excessive resources and efforts in marketing and e-comm which leads to very low quality products in very nice packaging.

We regret that any former employee had a negative experience at HoMedics, but we feel we have to address the comment with respect to regulatory compliance. We mandate that our products meet all applicable regulatory requirements, and indeed, many of our products and processes exceed those requirements. We stand behind the quality of our products and our testing and compliance procedures.

Pros

There are no pros to working here.

Cons

1. No mission/vision 2. No direction because there is no mission or vision 3. Managers who don't know how to manage 4. Not an inspiring or creative place to work 5. Nobody has any idea of what to focus on 6. Promotions where due are never given 7. Backfilling positions is not a thing 8. Poor (or lack of) process for just about everything 9. Culture made of bullies and HR does nothing 10. No raises or bonuses 11. Toxic work environment 12. Lack of resources to get the job done 13. Success is not celebrated but rather met with negative/condescending feedback 14. Goal setting is a joke 15. Parking sucks 16. Cafeteria food is so disgusting. For a health and wellness company, it's shameful that the menu is made up of gross fried food. 17. Anyone not an executive is treated poorly 18. Lack of collaboration, communication, etc.
