Pros

Amazing people to work with and some great senior managers. Double discount certain times a year Bonus added to rewards card at Christmas Bonus to ASM in February depending on KPI.

Cons

Too big of a workload, too many tasks assigned with a deadline in an unrealistic timeframe. Expect you to work 6 day weeks if other management call in sick with no overtime pay or consideration for your own personal time. Expect you to swap shifts last drop of a hat if somebody has to cover your store or sick calls, yet again interfering with your work life balance. Don’t get your breaks if you have a skeleton management team, post office constantly going or duty manager bell going, leaves you exhausted at the end of a shift. Back to back shifts. Expecting you to close at 11PM and reopening store at 6am. Lack of empathy from senior managers and no consideration for your own feelings, emotions and stress. Wouldn’t be seen dead rolling their sleeves up and helping the stores, they would rather make somebody else work 6 day weeks. Pay - At time of leaving an assistant manager got £200 a year more than a team leader despite doing the duties of a store manager mostly. Some store managers on £10,000 more than an assistant manager which is disgusting and disheartening.

Pros

I was a student while I worked there, and the spar I worked in was 5mins away from my house, really handy. Great team work atmosphere in the shop, everyone always able to accommodate any shift changes or other issues. Perhaps I got lucky but good set of people to work with, always laughing - actually had a lot of fun working there (I only left because I moved to a different city). Good breaks and holiday pay, only fully appreciating how great Henderson were to work for now that I have started working in a different supermarket.

Cons

Pay rate is not great but actually the company give a humongous percentage of their profits to charity each year which makes the pay more understandable.

Pros

Time you leave the building 👌👌 surrounding by yes men in company not brains or skill when someone actually uses un-common sense rare

Cons

It has a culture of profit over people and works its staff with overloaded work time lines unrealistic productivity needed to fix problems and causes mental health issues it ignores on daily bases. Among team members over multiple stores. Its operations team/ support team hide in the company looking to burnout managers to gain profit. They hold functions that were they made you pray and force Christian beliefs on you. Best thing you do is not to waste time on people pleasing in a company that lifts 1 billion in sales and has no care for its workers but the office. Be true to yourself folks and look for better company's out their best move I did
