- Freedom to grow. You can start on the bottom and one day end up leading Hallmark.
- Management is very considerate of personal life
- Ability to learn and try anything you can as long as you make sure required work is done
- Location was recently renovated and it feels great; new hardware, furniture, meeting areas (and available to all employees, not just management)
Cons
Small company, therefore you might be the only expert in a specific field (better know your stuff!)
Hallmark Data Systems is going through a paradigm shift. What used to be just a subscription fulfillment company is now branching out to include a marketing database, email marketing and an easy-to-use form builder. In the past two years upper management has made it a point to grow Hallmark out to keep up with the times and to deliver state of the art solutions to integrate with the subscription fulfillment base. Senior management is involved with the teams and their doors are always open. As a younger employee it's been great to know that I have the ear and support of high-level members.
Since the products are continually being built out, employees are encouraged to be innovative and strategically minded. There is a good mix of employees who have been with Hallmark for over 10 years, as well as newer employees who bring a different background to the table. Most of the time it allows for creative thinking focused around the client.
Hallmark promotes a good work/life balance. The vacation and personal time is generous, and regular hours are observed. Many employees work more than 40 hours a week, but it's not frowned upon if you don't work 60.
Cons
The office is unfortunately not in the city, making it difficult for public transport and the office was converted from a warehouse, so it's not the most inspiring work space. Some employees who are more tenured are less eager about changes made to the company. The culture at Hallmark is a little vague.
