Poor pay + nepotism

Pros

Very flexible work structure and some good leaders who probably deserve better

Cons

Most of the employees and managers are friends or family of senior management. This creates favorites and inner circles. Pay is some of the worse in all of Canada, CA$35k isn't enough to afford to live anywhere in ON. Employees in the US are paid triple what Canadian employees are. Poor decisions get made with no discussion with team so many projects are announced, then fail to launch because it was a bad idea that no one was behind. HR.com fails to eat their own dog food with poor HR practices and culture despite HR best practices being the purpose of the site.

Pros

Very relaxed work environment and flexibility (easy to book off time, and work from home optional).

Cons

There is a lack of professionalism across the board. The team works out of the CEO’s house. Sales team is required to travel as all business is based in the US, and during travel the reps are required to share beds. There are clear favourites with management. Even though the CEO resorts to “OKR” as a reason for employees being dissatisfied or not fitting in, it’s very rare that these OKR’s are met while some employees are reprimanded and others are not.

Pros

Work remotely & Nice colleagues

Cons

Everyone will have their own stance, however me personally I felt there is No Management support, they expect you to learn and grasp the business by your own teachings. They are nice people, but not good managers. They Don’t give you any warnings or stages for dismissal. Company tries to make HR professionals smarter and stay within legal entities of their roles, however this company doesn’t live by its own philosophy. They hire and fire good hard workers like changing your underwear on a daily basis. Management keeps its favourites on but the minority don’t even get a look into. This is not a personal attack from me as everyone has their own experiences but people should be aware of how this company can operate. No loyalty at all to workers who are trying hard to understand and make a living for themselves and their families.

Typically Employees who have been in a certain role for 3 years have a solid grasp of expectations and OKR's. HR.com has just implemented a company-wide OKR initiative to get make sure we are all on the same page. This has resulted in some terminations recently for people not on goals or aligned with our company objectives and key results.
