Nepotism:
The owner has both of his sons working there who do absolutely nothing but talk and take breaks. Then, all the other employees have to pick up the slack and stay late to cover for the fact that they are understaffed.
No flexibility for employees:
The Owner expects you to come early, leave late and work on weekends, but if you stay a minute extra out for a Doctor's appointment you will have to take it off your pay.
Lack of management experience:
The owner arrives around 10-11 am with several issues that need his attention always pending due to his tardiness. Once he arrives, he locks himself in the office and badmouth everyone and reminisces on the good old days. This causes employees to have to pick up the slack and stay late daily and weekends to cover for the owner's lack of business sense and management skills as well as his incapacity to manage and communicate.
Low Pay:
When it comes down to it, if you divide the amount of hours you are expected to work vs the pay you are offered, you will get less than half the hourly rate they are offering you.
