Pros

- Great medical insurance with affordable premiums and low deductibles/OOP max. - Accepts degree from any institution, does not have to be esteemed school. - Solid pipeline for future Ulta Beauty employees, especially HR associates. - Clean office, onsite cafeteria with $4 meal stipend, and fully-stocked supply room.

Cons

- Toxic work environment, no employer/employee loyalty, and low satisfaction - all evident in employee survey conducted in late 2017. - Revolving door of reorgs. Associates have to re-interview for their jobs. Most recently, US jobs offshored to Poland for cheap labor. - Lack of meritocracy; advancement based on who you know and not what you can do. Also, nepotism rampant, especially in summer internship program. - Compensation model poor, such as only the Manager band or above is bonusable. Annual increases (if any) do not keep up with local cost of living increases. Total compensation package poor relative to industry/competitors. - Business model too dependent on ONE client (McDonald's). When client spends less, all of HAVI is negatively impacted. - The "fluff" that once kept employee satisfaction decent has been cut: Happy Meal toys, holiday parties with raffles/gift, one-off performance awards. - No diversity demonstrated in leadership (look at their website and see for yourself). - No access or open-door policy to leadership, as they sit in an off-limits corner of the highest floor.

Don't Work Here Unless You Want to be Miserable

Pros

Good salary and benefits; but see below for why this is the case.

Cons

The environment at HAVI Global Solutions is difficult to navigate unless you have the support of a good manager, mentor, or sponsorship from key individuals within the company. There are lots of problems brewing in this company i.e. a dysfunctional sales team, limited to having one client, small deals with other clients, some leaders who have been there too long and are clueless about how to execute on strategy, challenges with retention, growth, and development of minorities i.e. people of color and women, etc. I could go on and on. But, at the end of the day, HAVI pays well and offers good benefits because the work environment is not challenging (you are often relegated to tasks which do not matter, or will help you grow professionally, etc.) - so when you look to move on to other opportunities at other companies, you are stuck at HAVI because of limited developed skill-sets and the salary they pay you. Management at HAVI is often threatened and more concerned with managing their professional brand versus achieving an output related to their job function or developing their team. If you are minority or woman, the ability to grow and develop here is highly limited. Women are often relegated to departments and positions which limit their upward mobility in the organization. There are very few women and women of color in leadership roles and the women in top positions do very little to develop or help other women in the organization. The turnover of minorities as well as non-minorities is high because the work environment is toxic. People are intimidated by progressive thinking and you trying to stretch outside your role or interact with others in the organization. This creates an environment of backstabbing, paranoia, and hyper competitiveness within teams with Management leaders often badmouthing people on their team to others, stating comments that individuals on a team made about a person on your performance review when this is not usually the case, etc. If you want a good salary and benefits with limited growth opportunities, this company would work for you. If you are looking to work in a team oriented position where you can hone and develop your skill-set, buyer beware!

Pros

Excellent Pay. Benefits are great. $4 lunch credit/day.

Cons

I've heard people around here talk about how "great our culture is". All I see around here is "this is the way we've always done it". No one wants to change. They're happy with having their one client which was built on a handshake 40 years ago and are oblivious to the fact that they only have ONE CLIENT. This client goes away...the company goes poof just like that. WAY WAY WAY WAY too many meetings in this place. While it is a "9-5" type environment...it's not only encouraged but somewhat expected you take a lot of work home with you. They'll say "oh we don't want you working nights and weekends" but when I spend 95% of my day in meetings, when do I have time to actually DO anything around here. The environment/business processes are overly complicated and I believe for a reason. Job security. Lots of people have been here 10+ years and you can tell they've reached tenure status. Be careful. They'll have a smile on their face and then stab you in the back when you aren't looking.
