Pros

I could not think of any though I tried hard. People have mentioned getting salary on time as a positive point, you can think of it standard. Looks like they are trying to present a rosy picture of the company by writing +ve reviews but do not fall prey to those. All are fake.

Cons

The list is endless- To start with- forget getting your relieving letter if you are leaving. Forget about getting Salary of 2 months notice period you served. Forget about getting an offer letter, they will get your signature on offer letter and will not give a copy to you. Company never accepts you resignation letter thinking that you will leave the company without serving notice period. This is the trust they have on their employees. No good work. So your learning is almost nil while working on any project. No knowledgeable employee from whom you can learn something. Good employees last for few weeks to months. HR policies are worst. Honestly there is no HR policy. To exploit employees they can come up with new policy to their advantage anytime. Salary is far below market standard. No benefits. Infrastructure and expenditure wise poor. Management has little or no knowledge about software. Any day CTO will come and say by next week, I want your work done to be doubled and reduce the help you take from other employees to half, otherwise you cannot keep your job. This is no NORMAL company and untrustworthy, if you already have a job do not resign from your current job just because you got an offer from this place. Joining this company can be a bad decision of your life. This is a very unstable job. If you are talented look out for better jobs. Timings are 9 to 7 pm, if you come late for some days then they will give you warning and that too in a rude manner. They have 3 managers in technical team, nobody understands technology They talk to their team members as if they have done a big favour on them. They talk down to employees and have bourgeoisie and the proletariat relationship. The Technical head of the company does not help his team when faced with technical issues. Technical head of company himself says i want to pass as much time as possible in the company.

A Comedy of Errors

Pros

A few folks in top management, especially in the finance department and tech departments are respectable and truly professional. A couple of super skilled seniors (not the founder for sure, but others in the top rungs) really know their deal. I'd say a good place for people seeking to learn how a start-up is financed and allocated resources. Respect for where the organization has reached today, regardless of its myriad flaws. Stay away from middle management and HR, and talk to the super seniors (not the founder) if in need of direction. The nature of the work has potential if properly executed. Join if you want some money but are okay with sacrificing the use of your grey cells. The job is worth it only if remote/hybrid owing to the substandard work culture. Gives a decent industry insight.

Cons

Greenwashing all the way. Way too much office politics. Managers discuss people's private lives in the open. No ethics. Substandard service economy type of a job. As in many Indian corporates, they have a white person bias, so if you as an Indian employee offer a good suggestion, folks may ignore it. But they'll take the same suggestion from a white client. So a mix of colonial hangover, racism and petty egos run wild here. The HR is quite incompetent, be careful of them. The HR used to be good, in a past life. People do not want to learn, even from the best. Everybody thinks they know what is correct. Showing a willingness to explore/learn is seen as a weakness. Weird, one-of-a-kind toxic work culture.

Pros

1. Very good people- Usually it shouldn't matter, but the people i worked with were some of the most chill and hardoworking guys(manager and lower level only ) i have met, and someone you can hang out even after work. 2. learnings- stagnates very quickly, but still the initial learnings are quite good for someone new in the field.

Cons

1. Ex HR- the previous HR single handedly led company to a downfall with outright atrocious and inconsistent policies, favoritism etc. Him being incompetent was probably the main reason why so many promising people left the company, and him leaving the company was the best thing that could have happened to Goodera in recent times. 2. Ungrateful and confused senior leadership- The senior leadership is downright clueless when it comes to their knowledge about the happenings and issues of their teams, and moreover when these issues are highlighted, instead of solving them they go on to gaslight the team and make it seem like their personal problem. A captain goes down with the ship, but there are some people who would make sure that even if the ship goes down, they survive, get credit for doing nothing and also make sure the people who didnt survive did so because of their own fault. 3. Work culture- At associate and lower level, there is absolutely no difference in the kind of work you do, yet they make it seem like your job title is of use. It only matters if you are at a manager or above level. Associates/Analysts slog hard, even on weekends most days, taking up cross board tasks, and are not given any recognition, or even the final result of the task they did. Rewards and recognition are only done when there is a sense of someone leaving, much like giving a bait. The company needs an overhaul from top to bottom, taking off the favoritism from the whole board, restructure once and stick to it, and make sure everyone is treated right( right now there are too many people who are comfortable in the company on the pretext of being old employees, while contributing zilch to the growth).
