Pros

If you started today, you may meet some great people. But all of the good, smart, and talented individuals are leaving in droves.

Cons

This “company” (if you can even call it that) has a severe lack of competent executive leadership, nepotism at its finest, and a failing business model. In the past couple of months, multiple c-suite members, multiple VPs, and multiple directors have left across every single department. When leaders like that leave, it’s because they no longer believe in the viability of the business. The product is trash. It’s is buggy beyond belief and customers simply don’t see value. They are bleeding hundreds of customers every single month and falling incredibly short on sales. To be clear, they are churning more customers each month than they are acquiring new logos. Customers cancel their credits cards on us because they hate the product that much and don’t want to talk to us. They have made multiple rounds of massive layoffs in the past few months which has blindsided so many individuals. Although many people who did not get laid off are likely the ones who had a worse off deal. After almost 100 people got let go in one day, the CEO got in front of the company and bragged about how much money gosite has left in the bank (even though it’s running out quickly) instead of leading with compassion, empathy, and direction. The CEO is a cowardly leader and should not being employing anyone. They underpay every single employee unless you are a part of their boys club. The CEO hired many of his friends and he will protect them at all costs even if they are incompetent, overpaid, and in over their head. These individuals are folks who have really only ever worked at gosite and have zero diversity in their experience which makes them unqualified for their roles and inflated titles. All of those traits can apply to the CEO as well. It’s also worth mentioning that his moral and ethical compass does don’t always steer straight and the company suffers because of it. The company is an absolute mess and is not a place you will grow and learn. You will only learn how to fail. This is a company that does not care about its employees (unless they’re a part of the aforementioned “boys club”), integrity, doing the right thing, or being a good person. Multiple people have voiced feeling emotionally abused by GoSite and seek therapy just to be able to deal with the stress it induces. If you are considering working at GoSite, don’t. Run far away from this place and don’t let them make you believe that this is an opportunity of a lifetime. Everyone deserves better than Gosite, customers and employees alike. The positive reviews you see on here are from long standing employees trying to repair their reputation just FYI.

Pros

- GREAT people work here - individual team mates, managers, etc. People are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get the job done.

Cons

- DISTURBING social environment. Interoffice affairs, rampant alcohol use, all around frat house. Honestly shocking - DISCONNECTED leadership. Tthe CPO basically runs the show now. CPO is a little detached from any teams outside of product (but even then, a lot of product/engineering have left since he came around) - DISGRACEFUL hiring and firing process. A couple of massive rounds of layoffs where teams were cut across the board. this included people who were just hired that week - CRAPPY product. Just read the BBB reviews of customers pissed off by sales selling hopes and dreams only to deliver a hot piece of trash.

Pros

1. There are some genuinely nice people who make work tolerable and are willing to help in any way they can. 2. Product can work but mostly for mid-market businesses instead of small businesses (which is what GoSite tries to target more). 3. Classpass membership were a good benefit.

Cons

1. Pretty toxic college-like party culture. They try to mask this as being the "cool, young start-up" as if this kind of culture is to be expected, but I've been at other start-ups before that have fun without being this unprofessional. 2. Pay is not up to par with market. 3. Managers/upper management definitely play favorites for both individual employees and for departments. 4. Customer support department tends to be undervalued by management even though they're the ones taking the hits from angry customers every day. The typical customers/target customers Gosite is marketed to are horrible. Obviously when working customer support, angry customers are to be expected but the sheer amount of unhappy and angry customers that CS deals with on a daily basis (and compared to the little amount of happy customers) is not normal. Customer base refuse to learn about the product which make for horrible retention. This also just goes to show that there is a huge disconnect between what the Sales department is selling vs. the product itself. 5. On the note of product, the product sucks. It only sells well because of good sales people on the Sales department but the ability of the product does not keep up with expectations set or what is currently already out there on the market (like existing Gosite competitors). I truly don't think this is the fault of engineering - rather I think this is a fault of upper management for failing to see how the product needs to be prioritized and enhanced in order to grow the company properly and keep up with the market. There is definitely a disconnect between what management perceives the customer base needs are vs what the customer base actually needs. 6. Sales department tends to be favored over other departments. I understand as a start-up, sales are important to secure the numbers needed to find good investors but when the sales expectations are higher than what the product can deliver, every other team after sales that the customer encounters are hit hard and management offers no support for this. 7. In general, there is a lack of transparency between upper management and employees. Company is disorganized in its structure and priorities. 8. PTO/Vacations days are slim compared to other tech companies.
