Pros

Strong and experienced team, very clear mission, collaborative work environment, good job autonomy (although to what degree varies by role), strong and supportive culture, high expectations of quality of work, low tolerance for 'politics'.

Cons

Can be high pressure at times in terms of deadlines and workload, that is largely just the nature of the venture capital / growth equity business and working in a small company / startup environment.

Pros

lots of free food in the office

Cons

opaque organization. performance was not shared. priorities of the org depended on what justin (ceo) had for breakfast, if it was eggs we're an AI fund but if its bacon we're a fintech. i liked it when he had pancakes because then we were a software company

Don't join a sinking ship

Pros

You will get exposure to smart people who work hard and get to see how the venture capital industry works.

Cons

Leadership is dysfunctional. The culture is terrible. I've learned the nicer people make themselves out to be, the more two-faced they really are, to everyone. This was really evident with how they have been handling things recently - letting leadership think they know everything, lying to employees about fund performance and company health, extremely toxic culture where everyone is burnt out, then laying people off due to your failure to plan, disrespecting our portfolio CEOs to the point where they sue, I could go on but I think you get the point. I would avoid the sinking ship. The smart people will continue to leave and the only ones that will remain are the ones as delusional as the CEO that have sunk in too many years to believe any better. You can decide if that's a bet you want to make
