Smart team and interesting product but unstable strategy
Pros
Good product. Easy to believe in what you're selling. Small team, fast execution, you'll see your work live within days of building it. Some of the smartest people I've had the pleasure of working with.
Cons
This is a company run by one person's instincts. Strategy shifts based on what the CEO focused on that day, and teams are expected to absorb the whiplash without complaint. The level of micromanagement is obscene. People end up pushing strategies they don't believe in because the CEO doesn't take no well, then get held accountable for outcomes they had little control over. Targets get set with little grounding in what's actually achievable, then treated as fixed once they're on paper. When the numbers don't hit, the instinct at the top is to look for someone downstream to blame rather than examine the plan that produced them. Headcount stays thin because growth gets prioritized over stability, so people end up covering more ground than one role should reasonably hold.
