This is a massive company with over a century of history that plays primarily in the conservative industrial space. It has all of the reflexes in place to cater to that world. While people are on board to make the Digital transition happen, it's going to take several years to change the overall behavior. In the interim, it's a constant management battle to fight the good fight and show the core part of the company that the Silicon Valley way can and will work. It's slow and frustrating to take a few steps forward and then a couple back every time you need to push past yet another conservative cultural blocker.

Lots of talkers and not so many doers (especially in management and senior technical roles), conflicting priorities, inability to make and capture good decisions, huge amount of confidence in bad decisions, culture of micromanagement, office layout that downright discourages concentration, many meetings (without agendas in many cases).
