- you are not ranked based on your personal performance! you’re ranked relative to others so there’s a lot of competition
- I worked at Clinton for 2.5 years and dealt with many misogynistic comments from researchers and senior devs, when I told a manager about this she didn’t seem to be bothered or care
- people working in research at Clinton are extremely behind in tech and don’t want to change, they don’t adhere to industry standards and code base for many projects is extremely sub par , get used to fixing other people’s crappy code 90% of the time
- NO code reviews on research projects means crappy code, managers are too complacent and incompetent to do anything to fix this issue
- toxic work culture where project managers degrade and abuse people, no way to switch teams/ projects if this happens, you have to put up with it
- service now is deeply broken, software request process is a joke as a result
- compensation is LOW and there are no bonuses
- no career growth for a software engineers unless you want to switch into management
This company is a joke! Don’t join if you have an ounce of self respect or want to learn and grow as a software engineer
