Pros

Great experience for college kids who want to be teachers. Kids are (mostly) incredible, passionate, and kind, though certainly a handful. The kids mostly have awesome experiences, and it's heartwarming to see. Sometimes make friends with other staff. Food and housing included. Assigned mentors to help with classes, though they are sometimes hit or miss. EXPLO is a well oiled machine- they know what they're doing!

Cons

Sooooo exhausting. You get very little rest/off time. Higher ups are very much hit or miss. One of the courses I was teaching had a few kids who would not listen or cooperate no matter what- I tried to seek help from mentors and management and they were not very helpful. Some of the other staff were awesome, while others were weirdly cliquey and rude. Everyone is constantly so tired from being in the heat all day and dealing with kids. Lowkey a lot of drama between staff and management.

Pros

Form great connections with other staff members

Cons

A ton of working hours; not enough time off; no chance to explore Boston if you don't have your own car;
