Pros

thief scam fraud I can tell many things like this.

Cons

I worked for this company they basically told us to steal money. Customers asked help for broken templates and they told us to not to help and no refund! I beg them to help people but they told us that it is not our work to help people but help company to earn money due to our salary. It is stealing and I am not a thief. I left this scam company!

Pros

I loved working with Envato. A very creative, relaxed bunch. I was creating online courses for them. The salary was great, communication was nice, and all around fantastic people. Everything was handled very professionally, but also very casually. Everyone was very nice and kind, great experience.

Cons

Not much of a resume builder, and I don't see much room to grow my career (in the area of the company that I personally worked within).

Pros

- Inspiring and purposeful work (helping creatives across the globe!) - Company owners and senior management genuinely care and try to do a great job. - They've kept a consistent vision, since they started, to be a company that helps people. - Envato grew quickly and worked VERY hard at keeping their culture pointed in a positive direction. No company is perfect, but they work hard to identify where they're lacking and figure out how to improve. - They work very hard to find great people. - They are financially responsible as a company. This is good in many ways, but I often see / hear people upset that they aren't as generous on salary, etc. as competitors. I think this is true, but in my experience they've worked hard to ensure people are fairly, but responsibly compensated. - Extremely remote working friendly, and they work hard to enable an adaptable work environment to people's individual needs (family, schedules, etc).

Cons

- The company is growing up and going through another stage of growing pains. For many at the company from prior years, this is uncomfortable and doesn't seem to be moving in the direction of working environment many of them prefer. There are aspects of it I didn't particularly like, but I understand the intention behind the shift. - They have a strong culture of being "nice" to each other, which has good intentions but often gets in the way of getting things done, so things can move VERY slowly as people are trying to be too nice (respectful and professional vs walking on eggshells constantly) . - Doesn't seem to have the "move fast and break things" mentality any more and is much more risk averse, significantly holding back real innovation. - Over the years I felt Envato needlessly lost many great, passionate, and talented people that deeply cared about contributing to Envato's mission. To some degree this is probably normal, though it was difficult to see and often didn't appear to make sense.

Pros

Envato, like any company has it's problems, but they're often outweighed by the empathic and thoughtful approach they take towards their employees. Fantastic development and learning opportunities make this a great place to work as an engineer starting out in web development

Cons

A lot of shakeups over the past few years and the salaries are not quite as competitive as some other companies.

Pros

You can have a very comfortable work / life balance due to the flexible work hours as well as being able to work from home. Great for those with families. If you are willing to worship the ground management walk on, then you'll be accepted into the pack very quickly and opportunities will be presented in no time for decent career growth.

Cons

Your salary will be well below average for the job you do. Middle management (for the most part) are blind to their mistakes and will try to find others to throw the blame on rather than own up to it. There is a very strong culture of a "cool kids club" so if you're not willing to kiss the ground those in a leadership position walk on, then you'll have an impossible time being acknowledged, let alone heard by if you have an idea on a particular project.

Pros

Envato is a values first organisation which is very rare! Known for flexible work, its true! Work from home, flexible start and finish times without question and work from abroad. Work from abroad is a wonderful benefit! You have a yearly salary review and profit share opportunity. HQ is centrally located. The focus on inclusion is great, mental health, LGBTI and things like that. And for those fortunate enough to have at some time, worked closely with the founders, what genuine warm and caring people to work with. Envato still has a strong employer brand perception in the market. Core products continue to ensure Envato is profitable.

Cons

Envato uses it values to guide decision making to the point where adverse outcomes occur as a result of staying true to values. There is a continued push to empower Ben Chan who is ill-equipped with the people skills required to lead the organisation. He tries to improve but you spot the fake veneer a long way away. #plugintothematrix #belikewater The founders continue to move further away from the day to day which is ok, however the organisation continues to position itself to prospective employees that they are heavily involved. There is a focus on hiring women, the quality of late has been poor. Managers aren’t clear on how to make a decision between hiring to improve gender equality and the person that has the best skills and experience. Employees openly admit that its like an adult day care centre working at Envato. Sadly, flexible work is now too flexible, people work from home but don’t work. There is currently no way to measure this nor is there a sound way to hold people accountable. This includes empowering managers to reprimand. There is an acceptance of carrying dead weight instead of having the tough conversations and moving people on. Unfortunately, quality women continue to leave the organisation, the majority of which are from Ben Chan’s department. There is a willingness to keep others that are well below par.
