      Pros

      Flexible work environment They certainly *try* to engage employees

      Cons

      Antiquated company culture (employee awards in 2023 with 1,000 employees?) Very few women in leadership and I wouldn’t exactly say the current women leaders are effective or well liked; no women of color in senior leadership Very little input from employees on whether engagement attempts are worthwhile They still operate the clique culture they had when they were a small business but they scaled quickly with remote employees who feel disconnected from the larger culture (eg the CEO will make inside jokes about things that happened 10 years ago in all-hands meetings) Average benefits, no 401K match, no real benefits outside the bare minimum

      Pros

      Very flexible. It depends on the team but my team is pretty laid back. Unlimited PTO and sick time is great, and they try to do some fun events in the office too

      Made us come back to the office

      Pros

      - Solid opportunities to work with a modern tech stack, including lots of cloud-based tools and enterprise SaaS platforms. - Collaborative teams and mostly supportive coworkers make day-to-day work enjoyable. Most teams are not super large. Average size probably being around 20-30 members. - Good work-life balance. Consistent 8 hour days. Overtime projects were not common. My experience with the company culture was that it was reasonably chill and not overly stuffy.

      Cons

      - Career growth and advancement can depend heavily on team or manager. They did put a ton of work into creating a career advancement framework with supposedly clearly defined markers. But ZERO of the managers I had ever referenced, followed, or implemented actions from it. Even when I made it a point to bring it up during my employee reviews. - At the time of this review they have implemented mandatory return to office and physical presence required for all employees (within distance). - Occasional silos between departments can impact efficiency and communication. Specifically People Operations (that's what the call HR). Processes involving People Ops such as onboarding, policy clarification, or internal requests are often not clear or even followed. - They love to put the letters "iM" in front of all the internal programs and branding. EG. "iMAway" for PTO time or to mean you are on vacation. I don't know, it's kinda cute at times. But can also be cringe sometimes.

Building a career progression framework only matters if managers are actually using it in practice. If that gap existed in your experience, that is a real problem, and it is something leadership needs to audit. On your People Ops comment, we are actively working to improve clarity and consistency in processes like onboarding and internal requests. Cross-functional communication, particularly between ops functions and the broader org, is an area we give great attention. We appreciate the time you put into this, and we wish you well in what comes next.
