There’s nothing quite like sitting in a Zoom meeting with cameras off across the board.. or worse, watching VPs and Directors with theirs on, smirking while clearly messaging each other. It’s not subtle. The culture leans cliquey and performative, like a corporate version of the “mean girl” table.
There’s a recurring pattern of men offering unsolicited advice, only to women - dressed up as being "helpful." It’s not mentorship. and it’s exhausting.
As for Rentals? If job security is the goal, your best bet is selling a product that, let’s be real, isn’t actually helping anyone. I’ve heard Sales reps openly admit they wouldn’t use Zillow to find their own rental. That tells you everything.
Thinking about joining? Don’t let the “Best Places to Work” badges fool you. Every org has its own flavor, and many here are run by leaders who smile through all-hands and say, “Things are great,” right before explaining why your raise won’t happen because the business is “being conservative.”
If you want the truth, don’t look at the brand. Talk to someone who’s already made it out.
