Pros
One of the best places I've ever worked. Really saw value in the product we were building towards supporting weight loss and healthy habits. It has meaningful impact in peoples lives and this is something to be proud of. It has always had a great work/life balance. And the platform / devops team was very strong. Teams worked well together and shipped product features regularly to the app stores. They had some solid product owners at the director level and below. Last CTO added a lot of good practices that were needed.
Cons
Lot of recent volatility due to historical financial debt, and GLP-1/Weight loss drugs leading to several rounds of layoffs. The company had a lot of debt that derailed the company. Not sure who or how, but definitely felt that there was lack of financial responsibility way back in the past that lead to its downturn. GLP-1/Weight loss drugs also had a big negative impact on the business, but this is not their fault. Product engineering was fragmented and siloed and lacks technical leadership.
