Pros
- incredible products - creative colleagues - diverse range of clients - flexibility in how to structure your day
Cons
At the time: - lack of tools to make roles more efficient - lack of training opportunities - lack of career development discussions with management - lack of upward or cross function mobility - a lot of managers were past Individual Contributors and had no idea how to effectively manage a team, some were even lone wolves but got promoted to Regional Directors - lack of support to be successful in your role - as a global company can feel silo'd at times, no cross geographical sharing of success stories and best practice - very little cross function connections - managers focused on spreadsheets and $'s rather than looking inwardly to what they could improve in order to serve their team better - poor compensation, not in line with market standard - OTC commission plans convoluted and impossible to achieve without the aforementioned support and training - a lot of focus on content teams (understandably) but little attention given to sales, especially if they were far removed from head offices
