Pros

The only good thing is that you can technically say you work for Google, although that is a white lie since Verily is a separate company that is the dark, cheap side of Google. Any benefits of being affiliated with Google (benefits, office access) will be ending in the next year.

Cons

- the culture of the company is best reflected in the mid-2021 and earlier reviews. They brought in a team to load Glassdoor with fake positive reviews over the past year to bring their ratings up from 2 stars - the leadership team is aloof and distant from the front line teams - most of their business is from insurance that has nothing technical/googlely about it - company does everything possible to avoid paying employees fairly (except senior execs with multiple homes)

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. We assure you that every Glassdoor review for Verily is 100% independent and voluntary. It is important to us to read every review and consider all feedback as we work to build a great company. Verily is an Alphabet company, born out of Google X, and Verily does enjoy many perks and advantages being part of Alphabet. As you likely know and as has been previously announced, we made organizational changes in January that refine our strategy, prioritize our product portfolio and simplify how we work, promoting more “One Verily” collaboration across our teams. We are also proud that Verily enjoys a Glassdoor rating of 4.3 when it comes to “Compensation & Benefits”. We encourage you to share your thoughts by emailing the Verily People and Culture team directly at “verily-PACT@google.com.” Your feedback can then connect to others' feedback as we continue to build Verily. You can also share concerns, provide additional information, or ask questions through our Verily Ethics Hotline. This provides you with an anonymous reporting option and is available to you 24/7 by phone at (800)-259-8129, via text (650) 376-7423, or online at the Verily Ethics Hotline.

Pros

Most of the team was very smart, and much of the work was very interesting.

Cons

Chaotic team structure, lots of red tape, confusing project ownership, too many overlapping people on some projects, while not enough for others.
