Pros

Good pantry Decent cabs for GSS, nothing great

Cons

If youre coming to airwatch GSS BU, be rest assured that ur fate is sealed in that BU only. The AirWatch GSS managers hates lateral movement and will do absolutely everything in their power to prevent ur movement with a plethora of cheap and dirty tactics. The kind of cheap tactics prove that an employee is tied to the AirWatch GSS unit and they definitely do not promote cross movement to other roles. AirWatch GSS leadership is prison warden redefined. It is hilarious that these are the mafia people who preach day in and day out about being ethical but at the same time practise such unethical behaviors! The weeknd allowance is a peanuts at a lame 2500 rs. There is absolutely no incentive to work on weeknds. Other product based companies offer well above 5000 for working on weeknds. In this day and age, when evry company is giving internet access to be reimbursable, vmware lets u do it after only 1 year. It looks like u have to prove ur allegiance to do this. Some of the managers are pretty good, but some others are woefully unskilled to be leaders. Especially the ones who are newly hired. And a certain oder person handling ess team. The hiring has been haphazard and the truckloads of new hires coming are not fit for BPO level jobs as well. It is shocking at how ignorant the HR and the rest of the GSS leadership is to such malpractices. Might be the HR is also involved in this circus. Save yourself, there are better BUs in vmware wherein your work is valued.

Pros

VMware is a big company but in many ways had a startup vibe. That was great because the resources and infrastructure of a big company were there, but it gave most people I worked with freedom to work on many projects, influence, move around, and contribute in many ways. Plus, many things moved faster than they might at other companies of the same size. Perks were really great including bonuses, events on the campus, opportunities, etc.

Cons

The biggest con is the annual layoff. During most of the years I was there, we were growing like crazy, beating expectations, gaining in stock price, etc. It was always positive and upward. However, every single January, it was known that there would be a round of layoffs, even when all numbers were looking great as they almost always were. Management called it restructuring. But, over the years, some really good people were let go for no apparent reason. Then to add insult to injury, a week or two later, there would be a company quarterly meeting discussing how VMware was doing so well and is still hiring, but they had to make some changes. It always felt dishonest and the sympathy for those let go came across as disingenuous.
