Pros
Good benefits. Great culture with the good people Lots of sustainability focus. Mental health care was encouraged. The content was really fun to work on, and the Ubisoft ethos and values appeared positive and inclusive. I really liked the project and was proud of what my studio produced. I was a big fan of the games, and it was exciting to be inside the company and witness so many talented artists and devs work together.
Cons
Salary was poor, I asked for 90k and upwards to match my previous salary, I got 80k with a yearly bonus of 4K. I was told they would match my expectations after a year. When the year came around the excuse was that there were plenty more waiting in line for pay raises and I was not at the front, good way to admit everyone was underpaid. There was a lot of misogyny from particular leaders that went unchecked even after multiple complaints which made me lose trust in management and HR. Obviously the full studio closure and redundancy is also a huge con. Our sister studio was full of boys club, ego driven, money men who could not see past their “greatness” and the demand from consumer to actually stick to a staggered and planned seasonal schedule.
