Pros

Flexible. Paid as you go.

Cons

Steep costly learning curve for understanding how compensation works. Being a "good driver for UBER" is not sustainable. Being a "good Uber driver" can be sustainable, but at the expense of being a "Good driver for Uber." Working to UBER's standards and jumping through their gametized hoops to become a high tier driver in the app will enslave you to the whims of an algorithm designed to squeeze the most effort out of drivers for the absolute lowest possible return. The app wants you to take every ride and rewards you with digital hugs... not fair compensation. The truth of this is found when you don't take every ride... only the ones that are reasonably fair and are penalized in the app... but still receive offers for rides that are neither better or worse than if you are highest tier driver. Being a high tier driver is further incentivized by app features not available to lower tiers... but these offer little advantage over being a savvy driver who knows where and when to be waiting for rides and has a rule for what they will and won't take. Find someone who has been doing it for awhile AND is making money after expenses. They can set you straight.

Pros

I love being able to work around truly passionate people who are ready to change the world. The culture is great, free snacks and food is big plus. I had the opportunity to take ownership of projects within my first month

Cons

The hours are much longer than any other job I've worked in, but this is expected to change as we continue hiring more help
