Pros
They have decent insurance, and 8% match on 401K, but you make so little here you can't take advantage of it.
Cons
I'd tell anyone and everyone to steer clear of this place if you're a person of color or a woman. This is a place where they love to chastise minorities, and use them as scapegoats. The executive leaders are all white males, with the exception of one, which they needed to show at least one person of color for the brochures. They like to rave about how diverse and inclusive they are, but what they don't tell you is that people of color are often targeted and met with great hostility. There are actually sites within the organization where most, if not all, of their black leaders left for any number of reasons. This is one of the worst organizations for people of color to work. Not to mention the overall dysfunction and disorganization of the company. The statistics only tell you about 5% of the story. Consider this, in an organization of nearly 30K employees, they may have a total of 5 black executives. In my department alone, I don't believe there's a single black director and less than 3 black managers. Not to mention the pay is terrible. USAA brags about only paying you about 50% of the market average, and then tells you that you should be happy. The ongoing deceptive practices are a part of their core values as well. They brag about their annual bonuses, but don't tell you that even with the bonuses, you're barely above the poverty line. They have great benefits, but when you have a family of four, and you're surviving on $90K a year, is there really a benefit? Women are treated poorly here, and often passed up for promotions. If you're a women, and you speak up about anything, or have the nerve to have a differing opinion, then you've officially placed a target on your back. The move heaven and earth to get you terminated. No to mention, this is another area of opportunity for USAA in their diversity hunt. Finally, I'd tell you to watch your back here. People befriend you here, only to stab you in the back and step over you, while you're bleeding out. They tell you that if you have trust issues, it's you, and not everyone else. This all the while, they're sharpening their blade. The directors, the EDs and the VPs are under qualified, or flat out unqualified, to lead. There's a ton of favoritism here, so they promote even more unqualified to positions they shouldn't be in. This place is seriously bad. This place is incredibly racist. And this place is incredibly sexist. It's slave labor here, and the pay is terrible. Please read the bad reviews before you apply, they're more true than the good ones. You'll thank me once you do.
