Pros
Good benefits, but long hours. Good job security and a fixed pension plan
Cons
Long hours expected regularly. Very difficult to balance work with a personal life. Difficult to schedule time off or get off early for personal events. This is a complaint one seems to hear in most departments. And forget about doing just about anything outside of work during December. Every job has "peak" work hours, but 16 hours/day for 6 weeks is especially long. Of course, you wont' have the opportunity to visit relatives this time of year either. Some of this is to be expected, but no effort is really made to mitigate the excess hours either.
