Pros
I advise anyone to read my "cons" before reading Pros. One of the great pros of UPS are the people. I loved my direct supervisor and manager. If more people of their stature populate middle and senior management, then employees are going to love the Company.
Cons
I want to preface this by saying as an adult, no matter how much effort I put in, there's always room for improvement. I'm also a benevolent person. So when this happened to me, I didn't know what to do. Details follow below: I was hired into Corporate as an analyst - and I'm very grateful UPS gave me the opportunity to build my future. Few weeks in, at our 3rd or 4th team meeting, one of the managers told all Asians to go sit in a corner. I was told he was joking and my supervisor advised me to report it to HR. Because I was inexperienced (work & life), benevolent, and only two months with the company, I didn't want to blemish a ten-year tenure. Little did I know that there was a historical pattern of discrimination and racial insensitivity at the company. Before I left, I found that the director (retiring) had a slew of racially-based complaints against him. There was also a time in the past where UPS saw a trend of Asians leaving the company. HR executives coined this phenomena as the "Asian Exodus". The whole ordeal was very depressing to go through. The team meeting shenanigans also embarrassed me in front of all my coworkers. For those out there reading, I think the company has made changes, but I still wanted to share my experience.
