Pros

Quality of Life balance is good. There are a few pockets of effective teams, but the pervasive theme is weak leadership at the top.

Cons

This is a VERY dysfunctional organization, partly due to growth through acquisition, but there is a common thread of poor management throughout. Most of the executive leadership would never be hired at an executive-level position in the private sector. Many typically got into their roles because they were ‘nice people’ and didn’t rock the boat. That point goes right up to the top as well. It’s sad, in that there’s a lot of political fighting behind the scenes for budget dollars. The executives at the top really have poor experience at making strategic decisions, or in understanding how to effectively implement strategies; and yet, they keep propping up and promoting the same weak team. They accomplish so little and are paid too much for doing so. The state should really come in and audit/benchmark the performance compared to other privately owned systems.

Great flexible scheduling, so much to see!

I would say maybe the understaffing.

Pros

The pay is good and they offer incentives for picking up shifts on other units.

Cons

Always getting floated to work other units that are short staffed.
