Pros
The only genuine positive is the people on the ground. There are intelligent, dedicated, mission-driven individuals who put their heart and soul into their work. They care deeply about the platform and the community. Many of them are doing exceptional work despite the environment, and they deserve far better leadership than they receive.
Cons
The culture is toxic from the top down. Micromanagement isn’t occasional, it’s constant. Leadership demands miracles whilst often lacking clear direction, coherent strategy, or a proper understanding of the complexity behind what they’re asking for. The co-founders’ behaviour is, frankly, unacceptable. Rude, dismissive, and at times demeaning. In a properly governed organisation with professional HR oversight, some of what occurs would be formally reportable. Respect and professionalism are not modelled consistently at senior level. There is clear favouritism. If you are the “shiny new hire” or currently in favour, you will be treated exceptionally well. The moment that changes, so does the tone. Fairness, consistency, and psychological safety are absent. Work–life balance is non-existent. There is an unspoken, or actually very loudly communicated in one co-founders posts, expectation of being available 24/7. Burnout is not an accident, it is the modus operandi. Overtime is unpaid and occasionally “acknowledged” with a token voucher, which feels more patronising than appreciative. This is not a high-performance culture. It is a pressure cooker driven by ego, chaos, and unrealistic expectations.
