Cons
Plant management only approach to leadership is not motivational at all, rather an unattainably results-driven approach. Culture stuck in the 80's. Leadership promotes competition between peers, but long tenure peers will block, harass you and promote a hostile environment the best they can. Long tenure leadership will have their ways to promote to plant managers and maintain favorites based on outside work relations (family or friends). Generalist culture is too strong so that few functional experts will not have any say on important company decisions. Difficult time as the company is switching from manufacturing to services, only leadership had planned their way to stay on top, and visualized ways to push away talented personnel that may have differences of opinion, be careful of surveys under an "organizational study".
