Pros

Amazing group of RBTs!! We have never had issues between therapists. The way therapy is conducted is great! A very positive environment where kindness and respect for our kids is upheld.

Cons

Leadership at the Helm has proved many times that they do not respect their team of RBTs. Favoritism is very apparent at this location. If you are a POC do not work here. They have proven that even if MULTIPLE people (including another BCBA) speak out saying they feel disrespected and uncomfortable due to a racist member of leadership, their concerns are brushed aside and the BCBA that is the cause of this is not made to take any responsibility for their actions. This showed our entire team that how we feel is not as important as maintaining the leadership team, specifically white members of the leadership team. Also, when many issues were brought up by many team members, instead of fixing the root of the problems in the leadership team, an “open door” policy was instead re-implemented and enforced. This seemed to our team like members of leadership were more concerned about us not talking about the bad things going on rather than fixing what was going on. Overall, while I think most of the memberships of leadership are good people, they are not good leaders. There are many people who are not happy at the Helm and they will see after yet another staff turnover that there needs to be changes made.

Pros

1. The kids are great—easily the best part of the job 2. RBTs are some of the most hardworking and undervalued people in the company 3. Occasional lunches (inconsistent but appreciated) 4. Dress-up/theme days if that matters to you 5. Decent place to get initial ABA experience before moving on

Cons

1. Corporate leadership (including operations and executive leadership) feels disconnected and ineffective in supporting clinic-level staff 2. Pay is below market across all roles (RBTs, BCBAs, and management) compared to other ABA companies in the area 3. Advancement is heavily influenced by favoritism rather than performance 4. If you’re not part of leadership’s “inner circle,” growth opportunities are extremely limited 5. High turnover across all levels, despite claims of strong tenure 6. Work-life balance is poor for most roles outside of corporate 7. Minimal support for frontline staff—expect to operate without consistent guidance 8. Culture can feel political and exclusionary, which pushes people out quickly.
