Pros

One of the best parts of working for this company is the constant drive to improve and innovate, whether that be the technology we’re building or the analysis techniques we’re honing. At some of the companies I’ve worked, the boss hasn’t even known my name. Here, I’m regularly collaborating with my managers, testing the technology that comes from the tech team, and providing feedback that gets integrated into our final products. My coworkers are spread out around the country—and the globe—and the flexibility offered by telework is an invaluable benefit. And, to be perfectly honest, what we do is just plain cool. I have a great deal of pride in what I do, and how we’re able to serve our clients across a ton of different industries. Not everyone gets to say that their job is making the world a better place, but I really believe at Synoptos we are. Every single day I show up to find a new, challenging and meaningful puzzle to work on. It’s never boring, and I’m constantly learning from some of the smartest people I’ve ever met.

Cons

The lone downside that I’ve run into with telework is that it takes more of a concerted effort to make sure everyone is coordinated well on projects than if you were all together in the same conference room. Most of the time we hit that mark, but occasionally the communication-gap can be tricky.

Pros

I wish I could copy another review word-for-word, because all of it is true. Teleworking is still progressive in the corporate world, but Synoptos recognizes the advantages and knows that with killer communication and transparency, it is a great work/life balance. I've been in this position for almost seven months and what strikes me most is that everyone is committed to the success of the business--for our company and for our clients. Everyone works hard and helps each other out. No one is better than anyone else. It's rare to find such a place where ego doesn't exist. I quickly felt like a welcomed part of the team and that my ideas and skillset were valued. On top of that, I get to work directly with clients who appreciate the work we do. The work is interesting and although there is some regularity to it, there's always something new and exciting to dig into to advance my skills in my career.

Cons

Early morning hours were an adjustment, but the company was upfront about that from the start, and I'm happy with the flexibility it offers throughout the rest of the day. Deadlines can get intense and overtime does happen, but it's usually balanced out. Holidays off are fewer because of client demands.
