Pros
There's a lot of good reasons to work at Stantec. As a field scientist I've enjoyed working there. It's a big company with a huge focus on safety, pretty good benefits, and opportunities to work on fascinating projects all over the world in some cases. I have found them flexible with my schedule to a reasonable extent as well. There are a lot of resources like ERGs and opportunities to work with excellent scientist in your or other disciplines. Most people I've worked with I've enjoyed spending time with here. Seems to be a fairly safe place to work for LGBTQ people or minority races because at least the leadership is trying to make things better for them. Office to office real the situation may be variable though.
Cons
I feel quite underpaid. That's the biggest reason I knocked off 2 stars. Since it's a big company there are lots of hoops to jump through and paperwork to get anything done. There's also a big focus on utilization and if yours is low they'll act like it's your fault and not your supervisors or the economy for having work for you to do. Getting help for a workplace injury can suddenly turn to feeling like being in court where they try to blame you for whatever injury because in their view "All accidents are preventable" which seems to mean all accidents are because you messed up in the field and you will be blamed.
