Pros

Good colleagues and supportive teammates were the positive factor. However, its no longer sustainable knowing that other factors of employment continues to decline.

Cons

The company talks a lot about leveling frameworks, competitiveness, and salary progression, but my experience did not match that messaging. In operations, compensation, salary increases and promotion outcomes are below market expectations, and concerns around pay competitiveness seemed to remain unresolved for years. When management were asked about how this fits in the leveling salary benchmark, there wasnt any concrete answers. Salary reviews were often discussed as something that would be revisited in the next cycle, but in practice are ignored. Responsibilities and workload also continued to grow, without corresponding recognition or compensation that felt fair and even near industry standards. The company seemed willing and quick to invest in expensive organizational tooling, while fairness and competitiveness of employee pay felt like a lower priority. Overall, working in Smartly becomes demotivating.

Pros

On the surface, the company has potential. Powerful platform that connects with a wide range of channels. But that’s where it ends.

Cons

Do you like constantly moving targets? How about no firm product roadmap? Or maybe poor executive leadership that pushes you to your breaking point? Then Smartly is the place for you. Breakdowns among executive leadership from sales, marketing, and product all make for the perfect storm of chaos that is impossible to navigate. You’ll join endless all-hands meetings with C-Suites screaming “GSD” paired with “push push push” as their version of a rally cry for everyone to meet aggressive quarterly targets. Culture is toxic and unenjoyable. Employee turnover is constant, whether by choice or by force. There is no time for celebration for any type of wins, whether they be on a department or company level. If you’re looking for a rewarding experience, this is not it.
