Pros

Great atmosphere. People come to work engaged. I see very few people complain about working or having awful projects. Upper management or leadership is very transparent in their communication. Decent perks (food, beer). Projects seem to be interesting and worthwhile Work-life balance is pretty good, from my short experience so far.

Cons

-Benefits. As everyone mentions, benefits are very lacking especially to other Seattle-area companies -If you're on a small team on a small practice, especially the National team in Seattle, it's difficult to meet others. -People on the National team can be cliquey and make it difficult for new-hires to be assimilated into the culture. Very few people seem to reach out and introduce themselves as an example -Flat organization. This can be a pro for some, but I view it as a con. -National Team operates completely separately from the Seattle team, on the internal side of things. I don't understand why or how the Seattle team has so much going on whereas the National Team is close to the exact opposite. Seattle team has organized events pretty often as well as a structured new-hire buddy program, but the National Team has few events and no similar program. -I can sense Slalom losing a grip on its culture as the company grows.

Thank you for providing a review. It's good that the management, the projects, and the work/life balance are all 'pros' for you. Your thoughts regarding culture, support and assimilation on the National Team (as compared to the local team) are valuable and I will be sure to pass them on to leadership, I will also ensure that they hear your feedback regarding benefits. If you have any additional thoughts or feedback, please feel free to email HR anonymously at feedback@slalom.com. Thank you.

Pros

people are very kind and its a great network to then have for life

Cons

I had 5 managers in 4 years, 3 of which promised me a promotion which I never got I was strung along in a seperate global team for a year and a half and then when I finally was moved to that group they fired 80% of us it's now an up or out company and people are leaving faster than business is coming in, that's been happening for 2 yrs my mental health was so bad i had two burnouts in a single year my last manager emotionally abused me and made me feel like i was a terrible person. I left believing that was why I was fired until i chatted with another former employee of this manager work life balance WAS a thing and in the last two years it's now that consultants are also responsible for selling, travel is a non-negotiable but expectations for travel are not transparent and can impact your yearly review, straight up not enough work and then senior management will make you feel bad for it
