Pros

-The Downtown Seattle office is conveniently accessible for most commuters. -Stocked break rooms (snacks and beer). -Fun work events. -Occasional free lunch.

Cons

-Processes and systems are constantly changing due to inefficiencies and constant trouble shooting. -Management are unwilling to consider 'outside of the box' thinking or suggestions with regard to inefficient/manual processes. -Career advancement/promotions are unlikely unless you kiss up to management by taking work home/take on additional projects. -Work-life balance is not promoted, as most supervisors will encourage team to take laptops home and plug-in. -Lack of diversity. I believe HR's definition of diversity is geared at hiring women first and foremost, rather than the inclusion of minorities and folks of the LGBT community. -HR will drag their feet with the hiring process due to delayed responses and are unwilling to negotiate salary upon hiring. -Lack of accountability seems to be a common theme among management and account/sales teams. Much blame and responsibility will fall on analysts and specialists when processes are not running smoothly.

This is John Tobin. I have not seen an unwillingness to embrace outside the box thinking - especially on our internal processes and tools. We evolve all the time in my mind (but admittedly, since I have been here since the beginning and have seen us grow / evolve so much, perhaps I'm more excited at how much we have evolved). I can tell you as a member of the Inclusion & Diversity steering committee we are way more focused on various inclusive and diverse topics than just gender parity (and that is important too). This being said - I would love to hear from you. I will likely encourage you to talk directly to your people manager, MDs, or GMs, but feel free to reach out to me to connect - simply email me at johnt@slalom.com. Pros

•There is an impressive budget, especially for high-level events, ancillary experiences, client giveaways, and premium swag. Management does not hesitate to fund top-notch brand experiences when needed. •The company offers a highly competitive benefits and perks package that remains a strong selling point.

Cons

•The "fiercely human" core value does not match daily operations. Collaboration is routinely replaced by a self-service model of training videos and help articles. •These recurring shifts are designed to manufacture the appearance of fiscal stability for the benefit of external stakeholders and clients, while leaving core operational deficits unaddressed. •Organizational maturity is low. Teams operate in deep silos, the internal tech stack is outdated, and there is a distinct lack of adequate project and event management software.
