Pros
Loved working with veterans in a way.
Cons
The team I was with unfortunately was not very helpful. I was told to ask questions then ridiculed when tried or simply told to refer to SOP, continually left on my own to find resources, I adopted the notes and strategies provided to me to help me to improve but was never really given any solid guidance or steps to correction. When asked for this was told that no one should have to “hold my hand”. Would ask for feedback from my direct teammates and receive positive feedback but received complete opposite feedback from manager in my 1:1 session that she stated was reported to her from the teammates I just asked. Was told that the client had emails about my performance and issues, however when I asked for them to review so I could correct they were never provided. Speed to proficiency is gauged via word of mouth and not an actual measured metric or standard. So if the team does not like or you the boss does not like you, there is nothing you can do or implement that can save you. The company hired me at 65k per year yet I found out others on the team made 20-30k more than me per year with less education in the technology field and no certifications.
