I worked at Real Programming 4 Kids for 2 years and 6 months and had a very positive experience overall. One of the biggest highlights was working with Elliott, the President. He is extremely supportive, approachable, and always willing to share knowledge. I learned a lot from him, especially about business, sales, customer relationships, and problem-solving. He gives employees opportunities to take ownership and develop skills beyond their role. The environment encourages growth and learning, and I was trusted with meaningful responsibilities across different areas. The team culture was positive and collaborative, and it felt good contributing to something that helps students learn and grow. Overall, it was a place where I gained valuable professional experience and developed skills I’ll carry forward in my career.

Because the team can be lean at times, employees may take on multiple responsibilities and busy periods can be demanding. However, for me this also became a good opportunity to learn and gain broader experience.

Setting your own hours(somewhat), reinforcing coding skills, work from home, lax work environment. Management is friendly, helpful and insightful. When problems arise in class time, assistance is swift. There is also the occasional meeting or new bit of material that instructors can learn and grow from.

Typically relegated to part time hours due to only being able to teach after school hours during the school year. Hours are not guaranteed and as such you might have two classes hours apart from one another or days without work.
