Pros

Benefits are good compared to other companies, you have the option of paying for more coverage. Pension and stock options FX discount

Cons

-Split weekends -They want your first born child in addition to your soul -Management micro-manages: I've been micromanaged to the point where I blocked off my calendar for a meeting all morning while my manager talked. She asked me what I was doing from 9am-12pm and I simply replied that I was in her office listening to her talk. -Being harassed by management -Sales are unattainable: If you happen to hit your sales mark, they move it even hire so they don't have to pay out a bonus -Nepotism: HR hire their friends who have no qualifications -If you don't hit your sales mark, you are demeaned.. they actually won't stop until you shed a tear. They put you on some sort of performance improvement plan that they say is designed to help you attain your goals when it's really designed to walk you out the door. - High turnover: Because not all of us can afford to sell our souls, we simply quit instead of being stressed to the point of depression. - Harassing clients in line with an iPad about their finances - Harassing clients to keep their money in their RRSP when they're clearly struggling with cashflow - Harassing clients to purchase credit card insurance when life insurance is clearly cheaper - Harassing clients to open up credit cards/credit lines and multiple accounts when they NEVER came in for that in the first place. - Harassing clients who are struggling with cashflow to setup and automatic contribution to a registered savings account

Pros

Stable work life balance. The culture is really great, very easy to work with complex management and managers. Willing to help you grow and learn with clients

Cons

Not a lot of room for growth unless you come in the door with that expectation. It can be very easy to get stuck in this role as your pay slowly increases and the job title mostly stays the same. Associate promotions and raises are rarely given and take a lot of coercion to get.
