Pros

The team nights were fun

Cons

The first red flag was when the director electronically signed my in processing paper work at his desk before I read any of the documents. It shouldn't really be a surprise because he directed us to sign for the customers on the iPad during sales. They ran the interview like they try to sell to their customers. They went over information very quickly and pulled back the offer to get you to accept it when you're at "peak impulse". During the interview they said that the company pays base pay and salary, which is technically true but they left out the part that you receive one or the other based off your sales not both. I was told $400 a week, but in reality it is only $10 an hour and you will not be scheduled anywhere near the 40 hours to make that much. The director said most people only make base pay for 2 weeks until commission hits, but his assistant manager repeatedly said it takes about 4-6 weeks to start earning commission. You do not receive commission when you make a sale, but instead when the installation occurs. I ended up taking a position for less than half of the compensation of my previous salary due to the quick high pressure interviews. It is impossible to plan your schedule because you will work at least 6 days a week. The weekday schedule comes out between 7:00 pm-8:00 pm Sunday night and the weekend schedule comes out after 8:00 pm on Friday night. Working for ProTenn was the worst decision I ever made. I was told by multiple supervisors "You don't need sales experience" or "You're here to be a manager not to sell" but the entire position is dependent on sales. You will get zero health benefits. The Brentwood Costco location is not provided with a WiFi hot spot so employees are expected to use their own cell phone data. I am an Army combat veteran and due to the decrease in salary I am probably going to lose my house and car. I never had to call the Veteran's Suicide Support Line before I took this position but I have used it twice in the month that I worked there. Even after bringing all this up to my supervisor I was terminated in the middle of the week. They would rather be short staffed the week of Thanksgiving (busiest shopping week of the year) than try to help an Army Veteran succeed.

Dear Reviewer, First we would like to thank you for your service as well as your feedback as we have a great respect for veterans and appreciate feedback regardless of the nature. We would like to say that we are truly sorry that you had a negative experience with our company as we try to ensure that all of our employees have a positive experience. Furthermore, we do recognize that this is not always achievable in every instance. As far as filling out paperwork management is there to assist the employees to fill out documents if they have questions and this could perhaps be where the confusion that arose with this. Additionally, as far as pay it is a guaranteed base salary or hourly pay plus bonuses. Base plus pay traditionally works in this manner this is not specific to our company. Pay is laid out clearly within the digital documents that you mentioned at the beginning of this review. As far as compensation for installations again this is typically how this works in sales you get compensated once the customer receives the product. It seems like there were a few basic misunderstandings within your time of employment here that may be rooted in our inability to relay this properly to you for this we apologize and will definitely look into this further to see where we went wrong. Additionally, we are very sorry to hear that you are going through a rough time as we truly appreciate veterans and the sacrifice they have made for us and our country. We understand that things such as PTSD are not a joking matter and have the ability to seriously impact a persons behavior. We are very sorry that we were not able to help you within you time here but we do truly wish that you do find someone that can help you as we understand that this is a serious issue. Again we do fully support veterans and love to give them opportunity and support. Thank you so much for your feedback and we do truly hope that you find the help that you need. Sincerely, Human Resources

Pros

From day one I was taken under the wing of my account manager. He trained and encouraged me throughout my entire first month. I was so excited and eager to finish training so I could prove I had what it took to be promoted to an account manager myself. First day out of training, I made multiple sales... best feeling ever. Throughout this whole process my account manager was ALWAYS there for me. Whenever I was nervous, excited, down, or had concerns, he listened and helped me through it or addressed & fixed my concerns. Many changes within the company took place during my first month due to COVID, one of our owner’s being promoted and moved out of state, and then starting a new campaign but the account managers and directors of ops handled it with Grace to make a smooth transition. One of my favorite things about working here is our morning meetings. They’re full of energy, excitement, and inspiration. They make sure to praise everyone who’s done well. They make you feel like a part of the team from day one. They put me in the right mindset for the rest of the day! Also, every Thursday is Team Night, it’s basically dedicated to creating a fun company work culture. A time to kick back and celebrate all the little or big victories of the week and to come together as a team.

Cons

It’s a 6 day work week BUT only for 4-6 hours a day. (Weekends are only 4.) Typically, this would have been a negative factor for my but with COVID I felt like it didn’t really matter. I’m actually glad I gave it a shot because I feel like I can give a 200% work ethic for 4-6 hours a day vs an 8-10 hour day. Never any late nights. They’re also super flexible and understandable when it comes to scheduling. *** Sales isn’t for everyone. It’s for people who want to prove themselves. Who love competition. Who chase towards goals. Who never give up. Who can handle hearing a “no” because they know they’re eventually going to get a “yes”.
