Supportive culture but demands long hours at times - Condition Coordinator Planet Home Lending Employee Review

Pros

Almost every manager is incredibly supportive and the culture is very team oriented. Thankfully it is not one of those forced "we're a family here" toxic workplaces, but like actually just feeling a natural comradery with everyone just from the many different team chats and department-wide chats and email help-lines there's always someone you can go to for help. Not overly corporate-speak heavy, most people just talk like normal humans, very refreshing for a "corporate" type job. Every loan is like a puzzle, and if you like puzzles you'll love this job, it's rewarding to finally get a difficult loan to close.

Cons

While there has been no mandatory OT so far, often it can feel like if you don't stay late a few times a week you'll fall behind, though I think that may just be the nature of the job, not inherent to PHL.

Pros

Positive people with a can-do attitude! Management actually helps, guides, and mentors their employees; they're actively involved so you're not "alone in the trenches". Advancement opportunities are provided to employees that exhibit excellence and express their desire to advance in their careers. No micromanaging. I absolutely love it here.

Cons

Insurance is expensive, but that may be the case everywhere.

Pros

Planet Home Lending is a very large company, and sometimes that can be a con, but for this company it is a PRO, cause there are teams of people whose jobs are to answer the questions of new employees and to be helpful where they can be. When I started this job it felt like I was drinking from a firehose with all the learning, and never once did anyone make it seem like that was something to be ashamed of, because that's how it is when joining a new company. At one point one of the trainers that I had was like "you might feel like that for a while, but we are always here to help you with anything that you could possibly need." And they truly are. During my first 2 weeks at this company, there were a lot of meetings that were informational to help with systems that are used by PHL and I was even able to schedule up to 3 hour extra meetings to get extra help. It has felt so great working at PHL so far, because of the support that the upper levels have to offer. You will never be left behind if you continue to ask questions.

Cons

I have not come across anything that I would see as a CON. This company allows you to grow into what you are looking to be in this company.
