Pros

Benefits Work Life Balance Work From Home Fridays Ping Pong Table Video Games There's just a feeling in the Boston office that we're a publishing company turning tech. So there are a lot of changes and I honestly feel like I have an impact even in such a global, large company. Everyone wants the same thing: to make the software better. To make education practices better. They also seem to take care of their own. Promoting from within versus hiring. This makes it so your manager actually knows the product they're in charge of.

Cons

There is a lot of bureaucracy, especially because of all the fundamental changes occurring at Pearson in a global level. It's an old company that has its hands in a lot of places is redefining itself. Because of this, managers and higher ups don't exactly know where they stand and therefore leave.

Pros

When a project goes according to plan you can work with some great people and make decent money.

Cons

Bad behavior is tolerated when you have a weak team member. They are allowed to remain on payroll, even if they do not effectively contribute. The burden is often placed on the team members willing to pick up the slack. Promotions are not given to the most qualified. They are randomly assigned. There are some horrible scoring directors as a result.
