Benefits are no longer as lucrative once you have a family to provide for; they get very expensive. Paid maternity leave is amazing; however, the return from leave has left many people with unwanted changes to their positions, redundancies, and/or forced demotions. HR is not a neutral party. They are solely supporting the leadership team and not employees; making a formal statement almost always turns into disciplinary action for employee. The pay rates/salaries are inconsistent across organization and frequently changing pay and bonus structures. If you’ve been in the same position for a while, chances are new hires or new promotions will start out making as much or more than you. Often promotions are made before the job is ever posted but they have to go through the formal process so there’s “fair opportunity”. Nepotism. Very stressful- management attitude is up & down like a rollercoaster so never know what it will be like day to day. There is so much data available to better understand timelines and processes but upper management will always skew the data to fit their narrative rather than align the process and expectations.
