There was no work for the software analyst position. Because there was no work, no one cared.
Of the 6 months in this full time position, I can honestly say I worked less than 10 hours. Once I realized that this was the norm, I stopped asking if there was anything to work on. I started watching Youtube to pass the time; my peers and supervisor knew but did not care.
Paycom continues to hire talented employees for this position. They're value is being wasted. Since I started at the company, around 10 new employees were hired for the same position when there was still little to no work to be done. All of the software analyst positions could be filled by 2-3 people, yet there was around 20.
The App Support Department managers do not care. If you ask to transfer, you will not be allowed. I came in to this position fresh out of college thinking I could learn and grow in my career. This position will absolutely halt your career and stunt any growth. I turned down job offers that paid better to accept this position because I had heard great things and viewed Paycom as the tech center of Oklahoma. Do not make my mistake! Get a different job.
Since Paycom offers sponsorship, many employees that took this position were being sponsored. The only way out of this position is getting a new job that also supports sponsorship since transfers are not allowed 9 out of 10 times.
I cannot stress enough that this job is a waste of time. DO NOT APPLY. You can't use this job to get your foot in the door with Paycom because you won't be able to transfer out of it. The turnover in this position is extremely high, yet management continually hires new employees.
