Pros

Company has stable profits. Located in beautiful area of southern California.

Cons

Company used to promote family atmosphere and employee satisfaction, but all of that culture was wiped out with a change in IT senior management. They are going through a sweeping layoff of the majority of IT employees, one wave just completed and the second wave is in process. Company has forced long-time employees to train foreign contractors to do their job and then kick them out the door. The first wave of layoffs has been disastrous with the offsite contractors completely messing everything up - they have no idea what they're doing, do not understand the systems and service level agreements have gone out the window. Systems are unstable, service requests now take a month (which should take 1 day), and professionalism has dropped. Not only that, but offshore resources that have a high turnover now have complete access to all client private information such as addresses, DOB and SSNs. It's only a matter of time before there is a security breach. HR and senior management keep toeing the company line and will respond to this by saying 'we are treating the outgoing employees with the utmost respect', however that is the furthest from the truth. The company has shown their true colors and it is disgusting the way employees have been treated. Even while people are being laid off, they have to walk past recruiting videos playing in the hallways that declare 'Pacific Life is such a great place to work and we invest in our people'. What a load of BS. They are only concerned about the bottom line and are not investing in their own people. I never thought I'd be embarrassed of Pacific Life, but I am. I would like to hope and believe that the company I once loved will fix their mistake and I can be proud of this company again.

Pros

Great benefits and great team members!

Cons

The Return to Office policy is driving away one of our talented team members. Blindsided by reorgs. No polls done to determine what is best for our team.
